The motives for deciding to homeschool are many. The St. Louis Catholic Homeschool Association exists to support and connect Catholic families who have made the decision to homeschool, as well as those families who may be contemplating homeschooling.
The Catholic Church recognizes parents’ responsibility to raise and educate their children. Homeschooling allows parents to guide their children’s growth spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically. Morning prayers, daily Mass, angelus, novenas, and family rosary will soon become part of your daily Catholic living routine. The Catholic family as a whole benefits greatly from the homeschool experience. Bonds between spouses and siblings are strengthened, leading to richer and deeper relationships that last a lifetime.
Over 180 families participate regularly in St. Louis Catholic Homeschool Association events. These families live in and around the St. Louis area, some as far away as Jefferson City.
Part of the mission of the St. Louis Catholic Homeschool Association is to support Catholic parents in their homeschooling endeavor, and to provide them with general homeschooling information and information about Catholic homeschooling resources. One of the ways we have done this is with our Catholic Homeschool Conference.
Throughout the year, the St. Louis Catholic Homeschool Association sponsors a wide variety of events. Field trips, junior-high and high school co-ops, support group meetings, park days, student dramatic performances, symphony concerts, the celebration of Feast Days, a spelling bee, school photos, and a Mom’s Christmas Tea are just a few of the activities offered annually.
